The Elephant Sanctuary Extends Condolences to PAWS

We are comforted to know that Sabu was able to live out the last fourteen months of his life in sanctuary at PAWS, under the loving care of Pat Derby, Ed Stewart, and all of Sabu's elephant care staff.

Since 1995, twenty-four elephants have found sanctuary in Tennessee. They live out their lives with the freedom to roam the natural habitat of the Sanctuary, making new friends and special relationships as the years pass. Watch full size.

You Can Help the Elephants
Jenny was wild caught in Sumatra. Handicapped with a crippled back leg, Jenny did not allow her condition to stop her from running, swimming and enjoying Sanctuary life to the fullest. Jenny's life was filled with unparalleled bliss when Shirley arrived, as the two rekindled their mother-daughter bond. Jenny died peacefully after an extended illness on October 17, 2006.
